UPSC Optional Academy has been offering educational services to the students preparing for the civil services exam for past many years. The Academy imparts comprehensive training-cum-guidance program which cover all the stages of civil services exam – Preliminary Exam (the objective type screening test); Main exam (the descriptive type written test) and Interview. The Academy was established with the aim to provide a complete solution to the students preparing for this exam. The focus is on providing holistic education not only covering the prescribed syllabus but also enabling the students to face other challenges of life with an equal ease.

In addition to imparting knowledge of the concerned subjects, UPSC Optional Academy lays great emphasis on leadership development, ethics and social responsibility, and mind-power development so as to ensure that our tomorrow’s bureaucrats do not suffer from moral and ethical bankruptcy.As a result, every student learns to not merely tread on the beaten path but to reinvent themselves and explore newer routes; not to attain the fixed targets merely, but to set newer ones Over the years the nature of civil services examination has undergone significant changes. The competition has certainly become stiffer. Over the past few years, it was realized that the traditional method of coaching no longer fulfils the requirement of the Civil Services Exam in the neo-competitive era.

Hence UPSC Optional Academy has made a significant/remarkable shift from coaching to comprehensive training. Our primary objective is to provide dependable guidance for candidates preparing for the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, with a view to enable them to secure their cherished career in life. It has been the constant endeavour of the Union Public Service Commission to so pattern the system of recruitment that the best available talent is located. For this purpose, the Commission has introduced a new system of examination from 1979 onward. The new Combined Civil Services Examination aims at, to test not only the candidate’s subjective knowledge, but also his capacity to understand and interpret complicated issues and his ability to apply knowledge to resolve practical problems. With this end in view, the Commission has introduced a screening test of objective type at the Preliminary Test level.

Further, the system of examination requires a candidate to prepare a subject of Honours or Post-Graduation standard which he might not have studied as a part of his curricula at his Graduation and Post-Graduation levels. This calls for a completely new orientation of preparation on the part of the candidate to qualify in the Civil Services Examination which is entirely different from the traditional university-type of examination. Consequently a candidate just after passing out of an university does not comprehend clearly what is expected of him to qualify in the Civil Services Examination. He is not in a position to select a new optional subject which will suit both his personal aptitude and the chances for securing higher marks in the Civil Services Examination.

THE PLACE OF FUNCTIONING

The Institute imparts guidance at Navi Mumbai only. The Institute does not have any branch office anywhere in India providing guidance for the Civil Services Examination.

Approval

Your scholarship is allotted on first come first serve basis. The approval of your application is at the management’s discretion.
and management’s decision will be final. If data mentioned in application is found incorrect, disciplinary actions will be taken on the student.

FACULTY

The teaching faculty of the Institute has been drawn from highly qualified and experienced teachers of the Universities and other reputed Institutes as well as those students who have themselves scored 350 + in their OPTIONAL for past 2-3 years consistently. To provide quality education and guidance normally a minimum of two teachers are engaged for each subject.

• Form 16 of the earning member of the family

• Details of all UPSC/MPSC attempts
